ADRIA, a French Agro Industry Technical Institute (ITAI) , is a leading research centre in food safety and quality. Founded in the 70's, the Institute is located in Bretagne, an important food production area in France. Our intention remains to strengthen the food industry profitability, within and beyond the region through our expertises, and thus to contribute to innovation added-values by creating new activities and employments. Today, we operate as an international recognised team. ADRIA is an independent and non-profit organisation. ADRIA R&D activities are financed by regional, national and European public funding and private contract. Its R&D activities are supported by the French Minsitry of Agriculture.
ADRIA core knowledge is closely related to our focus R&D area. ADRIA is internationally recognised for food predictive model conception, and develops further applications to:
- anticipate micro-organism behaviour,
- define process parameters,
- prevent moisture migration and food texture disorder,
- preserve nutritional and functional properties of components,
- optimise cleaning-in-place procedures.
ADRIA centralises the SYM'PREVIUS predictive microbiology database (www.symprevius.org), and develops up-dated database programs using automatically web-content. ADRIA runs as well intensive R&D programs to provide molecular-based methods for rapid detection and traceability of micro-organisms in food and process environment.
